Dive BCD's
We have designed a wide range of diving BCD's with many different features to make your BCD fit you like a glove.
Diving BCD's, another of Aqualung's specialities
The BCD, a logical follow-up to the regulator As the world benchmark in diving regulators, it was natural for us to create a range of quality stabilisation BCD's, featuring the same degree of expertise you see in our regulators. In fact, diving BCD's, also known as buoyancy, stabiliser or stab vests have a direct link with diving regulators because they play a direct role in supporting compressed air cylinders among other uses. But BCD's are also handy because you can use them to compartmentalise your essential equipment such as your octopus (through a specially designed pocket) as well as accessories such as knives or torches.
At Aqualung, you're bound to find the right diving BCD for you. Aqualung has been listening to divers' needs for decades when it comes to flotation or freedom of movement issues caused by stab BCD's. Thus we developed a range of 8 diving BCD's for men and 4 diving BCD's for women to meet the needs of every underwater enthusiast.
Choose between the Jacket style BCD, the back inflation BCD or the modular BCD.
We are aware that in the underwater environment every diver has their stabilisation preferences. Some underwater divers prefer the buoyancy system to be distributed as equally as possible over the entire upper body. To achieve this, we offer a wide selection of wraparound BCD's such as the Pro HD, Axiom and Axiom i3+ BCD's. Other divers prefer dorsal buoyancy. Just for them, we have designed diving BCD's such as the Dimension, the Lotus for women and the Zuma for those who like to take their own diving equipment with them all over the world.
Last but not least, we have released two modular flotation BCD's called the Omni and the Rogue to customise your diving style as much as possible. These two stabilisation BCD's enable the user to come up with their own diving BCD based on their needs; so they can add or remove envelopes, weight pockets and waist straps.
A range of diving BCD's exclusively for female divers
For a long time, women who wanted to scuba dive had to use products designed for men, which caused a lot of problems in terms of comfort, freedom of movement and even safety. Aqualung realised this was a genuine issue for female divers and designed a line of flotation BCD's specially adapted to women's body shapes. These BCD's have been created based on the diver's stabilisation preferences, as well as their expertise level. Thus, the Lotus is for women who prefer a bask inflation BCD, the Axiom and the Axiom i3+ are for experienced and regular divers while the Pearl is a hybrid BCD that suits female divers who are beginners.
Innovations for greater comfort and performance
For a long time, divers have been encountering comfort issues with stab BCD's due to poor weight distribution of the compressed air cylinders. To remedy this, Aqualung created the WraptureTM sling for optimal stability and comfort. The compressed air cylinder is stabilised by positioning the strap near the waist, so its weight is supported by the hips and no longer by the shoulders.
The Modlock System is a completely modular diving BCD "skeleton" which you can clip on using a simple pen or Allen key. It includes a back plate, straps, an envelope, a waist belt and other accessories. This system, available for the Omni and Rogue, gives divers increased mobility and freedom of movement by keeping only what they need.Aqualung's engineers have also developed a simple but very effective system to deal with the problem of buoyancy: i3 technology. The inflator used to inflate and deflate the BCD has been replaced by a lever that you raise to inflate the BCD with air and then lower to empty it. i3 technology is used on the Axiom i3+.
